LLED Faculty Members Recognized As World's Top 2% Most-Cited Linguists

November 2, 2023

Congratulations to faculty members of Language & Literacy Education Dr. Ron DarvinDr. Ryuko Kubtoa, Dr. Patsy Duff, and Dr. Bonny Norton on being the world’s top 2% most-cited linguists and top 400 world linguists, according to Stanford’s List of the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023!

"Citation metrics are widely used and misused".

The Elsevier Data Repository has published a database of top-cited scientists that assesses the global influence of scientists in various fields- providing insight into their research contributions, while offering percentile ranks for more precise evaluation.

Stanford Prof. John Ioannidis and his team from Stanford University, organized data using standardized metrics on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator. These metrics provide an objective assessment of the contributions and influence of our linguistic faculty members.

Additional Language Sciences faculty members on this list are Dr. Janet F. Werker, Dr. James T. Enns, Dr. Raymond Ng, Dr. Kiley Hamlin, Dr. Laurel J. Brinton, Dr. Laks V.S. Lakshmanan, and Dr. Alfred Hermida.
